Deepika Padukone’s manager Karishma Prakash has been under the NCB’s radar for quite some time after the drugs probe during Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case came to light. The actress’ manager had some links to drug peddlers and was called for questioning by the Narcotics Control Bureau regarding the same. After the recent raid at her apartment, the NCB had summoned her once again on Wednesday for questioning. However, as per the sources, Karishma Prakash did not turn up for the questioning and one of the officers mentioned that she did not give a reason behind her absence. Even during the raid, she was not present at her apartment but it was conducted among the presence of her acquaintances. During the said raid, 1.7 grams of charas and two bottles of CBD oil were recovered from Karishma Prakash’s house. The Narcotics Control Bureau will be sending across another summon to Karishma Prakash after a two-day wait. The peddler in touch with Karishma has been arrested in the FIR no. 16

The recent past has not been rather kind to the film industry, with film production grinding to a halt. It is only now that shooting has resumed. Though the shoot of films has resumed, albeit on a rather low key, we hear that the Karan Johar led production house Dharma Production has run into some turbulence. In fact, reports state that the Entertainment Society of Goa has issued a showcause notice to Dharma for apparently littering a location where they were shooting. This notice comes after a resident of Nerul, in Goa, complained that the Dharma Production crew disposed off garbage, which included biomedical waste, in a haphazard manner along the streets where they were shooting. Actors Jennifer Lopez and Armie Hammer are coming together to star in an upcoming action-comedy titled, Shotgun Wedding . The film will be helmed by Jason Moore and the screenplay will be from Mark Hammer and Liz Meriwether. According to Deadline, "The film follows Darcy (Lopez) and Tom (Hammer), who gather their lovable but very opinionated families for the ultimate destination wedding just as the couple begins to get cold feet. After being arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for drug charges, Rhea Chakraborty received bail earlier this month. There are multiple investigations happening against the actress in relation to the untimely death of her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput. The actress has asked the Bombay High Court to not quash the case against Sushant’s sisters Priyanka and Meetu. The sisters have asked Bombay HC to dismiss the case and appealed to the court to ask CBI to not take steps against them. Six days before his death, Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters allegedly procured medicines that are banned under the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substance. According to the WhatsApp texts exchange between Sushant and his sister, Priyanka Singh had reportedly advised him to take Librium, Mexito and Lonazep that are prescribed for anxiety and depression. Pyaar Ka Punchnama director Luv Ranjan is gearing up to make a silent film titled Uff under his new production house Luv films. Reportedly, the film will be directed by Durgavati director G Ashok. As per reports, the makers have roped in a multi-starrer cast including Tumbbad star Sohum Shah, Nushhratt Bharuccha, Omkar Kapoor and Nora Faethi. There are no details about the plot of the film as of yet, but it is said that it will be a blend of multiple genres. The Narcotics Control Bureau(NCB), who is currently probing an alleged drug case in Bollywood, has summoned actress Deepika Padukone's manager Karishma Prakash. Deepika and Karishma were called in for questioning a month ago after a 2017 Whatsapp chat of them allegedly discussing drugs surfaced during an investigation. According to a report in NDTV, the NCB recovered drugs from Karishma's house in Mumbai and has therefore been summoned by the officials. Meanwhile, Deepika was summoned in September after the NCB retrieved WhatsApp chats from 2017 where the actress was seen discussing 'maal' and hash. The actress admitted to the chat but denied consuming them. In September, Deepika and Karishma were questioned at the same time with the same set of questions in different rooms where they revealed that they used these terms to describe cigarettes ‘for fun’. On August 15, Zee Studios announced its next production, a social comedy, 14 Phere directed by Devanshu Singh. The film will feature Vikrant Massey and Kriti Kharbanda who will be pairing up for the first time. The film is all set to go on floors on November 10. Reportedly, the first schedule will take place in the city in a bungalow in Madh Island and in Kamalistan Studio. On Monday, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt filed a defamation suit against aspiring actor Luviena Lodh in the Bombay High Court for making “defamatory, slanderous and false allegations” against them. The Bhatt siblings sought Rs. 1 crore in damages and also a restraining order from making any such false claims in the future. The suit also claimed that Sumit Sabharwal was not directly related to the Bhatts and that he was “the son of the applicants’ sister’s husband’s brother”. The plea was taken up for urgent hearing on Monday, where a single bench of Justice AK Menon asked Lodh to file a reply. The next hearing has been posted for after three weeks.
