There are reports all across the internet that Tamil superstar Nayanthara is making her Bollywood debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Tamil director Atlee’s first Hindi film. The film is supposedly titled  Sankee (meaning, obnoxious) and it is not a remake of a Tamil film but an original. So far so cool. Now one hears that Nayanthara who is known as Tamil’s cinema only female superstar, would be making her debut with SRK in the Atlee film. Atlee and Nayanthara had collaborated on Bigil  in Tamil in 2018, a football film starring Vijay. However it seems unlikely that she would jump at this opportunity to go pan-India without being sure of her role being substantial. Even without a single release to his credit  Suniel  Shetty’s son  Ahan  is going places. Says a source close to the  Shettys , “Ahan has completed his debut film  Tadap  with producer Sajid Nadiadwala. All the work is done. They are waiting for the theatres to open before announcing the date.” Ahan has now been finalized to play the lead in  Mahesh  Bhatt’s  Aashiqui  3,  the third film in the Bhatts’ super-successful  Aashiqui franchise which will go on the floors next year. “After the full-on action in  Tadap , Ahan wanted to prove himself in an emotional romantic theme. Aashiqui 3  will give him just the vehicle that he needs to prove his versatility,” a source close to the  Shettys  informs me. The Bombay High Court on June 28 disposed of Kangana Ranaut's plea seeking to renew her passport after authorities told her application needs some corrections. The Passport Authority's counsel also assured that it would decide her application expeditiously. According to Live Law India, "A bench of Justices SS Shinde and Revati Mohite Dere specifically constituted to adjudicate the issue heard Kangana's petition. Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh for the Passport Authority submitted that Kangana's renewal application doesn't mention correct facts. He said only FIRs were pending against the actor, not 'criminal cases,' as wrongly stated by her in her passport application. The ASG further said that the Passport Authority is willing to consider her passport renewal application in accordance with the Passport Act/rules/ procedure, expeditiously, if her advocate was willing to make a statement in the regard." A source shared with Bollywood Hungama , "Jackky had taken three scripts to Akshay and he liked two of them. One was a Mudassar Aziz film which Rajkummar Rao might do now. The other was a film that Bell Bottom director Ranjit Tiwari is putting together. Akshay and Ranjit have worked together on Bell Bottom and when he heard the script, he loved it and immediately decided to do it. After the success of Simmba that was released in 2018, director-actor duo Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh joined hands for the period comedy titled Cirkus . The film went on floors in November 2020 and also stars Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Sharma, and Johny Lever in prominent roles. Bollywood Hungama had earlier reported that the makers are planning to release the film in theatres on December 31, 2021. While the makers are yet to officially announce the release date, the digital rights of the film have been acquired by the streaming giant Netflix. Hindi remakes of South Indian films have become increasingly common in the last few years. Film producer Boney Kapoor recently acquired the rights to a popular Malayalam film that was released earlier this year. Kapoor has bought the rights to the political drama titled One starring Mammootty in the lead. Mammootty essayed the role of a Chief Minister in the movie directed by Santhosh Vishwanath. As per reports, the Hindi remake will see a huge and dependable star playing the role essayed by Mammooty. Meanwhile, Boney had also acquired the rights to the 2019 film Helen starring Anna Ben. In one of the shocking news, Television actor Pearl V Puri was arrested by Mumbai police for allegedly sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl in 2019. The victim's family accused the actor of the alleged rape of a minor. The actor was arrested, sent to judicial custody for 14 days and released on bail two weeks ago. Actor Shahrukh Khan is back on the sets of the film Pathan , co-starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, after a hiatus due to the lockdown. The film began shooting last year but due to several restrictions the shooting came to a halt in March end. The actor has an array of films in the pipeline including an upcoming project by Rajkumar Hirani which apparently stars Taapsee Pannu but it hasn’t been confirmed yet. According to a tabloid, the Rajkumar Hirani project will roll from September 2021 onwards and go on till January 2022. It seems like Taapsee Pannu has secured the female lead role. The entertaining comedy, set up against the backdrop of immigration, is written by Rajkumar Hirani and Kanika Dhillon. On the professional front, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for the film Pathan . It seems like the makers of Race are set to take forward the franchise. After Race 3 underperformed at the box office, it was unclear whether the franchise would get a fourth installment. But, it seems like not only the project is in the works but the makers plan to take it on the floor by end of the year. According to a tabloid, Race 4 is currently in the scripting stage. Producer Firoz Nadiadwala has been very active in helping the frontline workers of Mumbai. The producer has been providing help to Mumbai police since March of this year amid the second wave of Covid-19. The producer reached to the police at various checkpoints of Andheri and Juhu.
