Actor Shilpa Shetty has moved Bombay High Court asking for an injunction against defamatory content on social media and websites. The actress cited several reports that are false and damaging to her and her family's reputation. Reportedly, Shilpa has demanded an unconditional apology from certain media houses, deleting all defamatory content and a compensation of Rs. 25 crore. Shilpa in her application to the court stated that a mere statement of her involvement in the said crime and investigation without verifying details has damaged her reputation and character. The actor also stated that she is being painted as a woman who abandoned her husband during an on-going trial. She also said that she has been written off as a criminal in reports cited by her in the document to the court. Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla dropped her appeal against the dismissal of her case against 5G wireless network technology from the Delhi High Court on Thursday. Following a declaration from Chawla's lawyer, advocate Deepak Khosla, Justice Jayant Nath allowed the plea to be withdrawn Court said, "The plaintiff's learned counsel (Chawla) wishes to withdraw the application with the option of appealing to the appellate court. The application is denied since it has been withdrawn” Chawla had filed the application to have her case against the 5G rollout "rejected" instead of "dismissed." Chawla's lawyer contended that the plaint could only be rejected or returned under the Civil Procedure Code, not dismissed because it never reached up to the level of suit. After Chawla opted not to pursue the plea for relief, the court gave Chawla a week to deposit Rs 20 lakh in expenses. Chawla also withdrew his request for a return of court fees. The court dismi

In a recent step in Kangana Ranaut's legal fight with writer Ashish Kaul, the author filed a contempt petition in the Bombay High Court against Ranaut for lying to the court. According to the report, Kaul's lawyers, Adnan Shaikh and Yogita Joshi said they sent a letter to Javed Akhtar and learned through his response that there was falsification of facts in the passport application, which is a major offense. Mumbai Esplanade court rejected the bail plea of businessman Raj Kundra today who was arrested in connection to distributing porn films via apps. The businessman was arrested by Mumbai police and detained till July 27, post that his detainment ended.
