Emmy award winner Peter Dinklage has criticized the Snow White remake that is under development at Disney. The actor made his statement on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast where he was guested this week. Peter Dinklage did not liked the idea of the remake because of the fairytale’s backwards depiction of dwarfs. He said, “There’s a lot of hypocrisy going on. Literally no offense to anyone, but I was a little taken aback when they were very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White. But you’re still telling the story of ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.’ Take a step back and look at what you’re doing there. Hollywood actress Ivory Aquino has been officially roped in to play Alysia Yeoh in the upcoming Batgirl movie, playing the first openly transgender character in a live-action DC Comics film. According to Deadline , the Filipina-American actress will join the previously announced cast members of Batgirl including Leslie Grace, essaying the lead role of Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, J.K. Simmons, Brendan Fraser, Michael Keaton and Jacob Scipio. Ivory Aquino will appear as Alysia Yeoh, the best friend of titular superhero Barbara Gordon (Batgirl). Recently, reports surfaced that the soon to be released Vijay starrer, Beast , is in demand for a Hindi remake as producers have been speaking to Sun Pictures to bag the rights. On investigation, Bollywood Hungama got a scoop. "Sajid Nadiadwala is the frontrunner to bag the remake rights of this invasion action thriller. The ace producer is among the biggest in Bollywood and believes that the plot of Beast has the potential to be tweaked into a mainstream action franchise. He is looking to adapt the screenplay rather than remaking it. American actress and musician Evan Rachel Wood has revealed in a new documentary Phoenix Rising that she was “essentially raped on-camera” while filming the 2007 music video for Marilyn Manson’s ‘ Heart-Shaped Glasses’ . Hollywood actor Chris Evans is all set to star alongside Dwayne Johnson in the holiday event film Red One for Amazon Studios. Though plot details on Red One are not available but the movie is said to be based on an original story from Hiram Garcia, president of production at Seven Bucks. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film, which Amazon Studios outbid other suitors for, is billed as an action-adventure comedy that imagines a new universe for the holiday genre. Hiram Garcia, Dany Garcia, Johnson and Morgan will share producer credits. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child star James Snyder has been fired from the Broadway show following an independent investigation sparked by a complaint from his co-star. On Sunday, the producers said that they received a complaint about Snyder, who plays Harry Potter in the show, from Diane Davis, who plays Harry’s wife, Ginny, on November 19 about his “conduct.” According to The Hollywood Reporter, the producers said, “Immediately upon receiving this complaint, the producers commissioned an independent investigation by a third party, and Mr. Snyder was suspended pending the investigation’s completion. At the conclusion of the investigation, the producers decided Mr. Snyder should not return to the production and terminated his contract. Davis has made the personal decision to take a leave of absence. Out of respect for her privacy, and to maintain the integrity of the investigation. Hollywood singer-actor Meat Loaf (Michael Lee Aday) has reportedly died at the age of 74. The rock star sold over 100 million records worldwide and appeared in 50-plus movies and television series. Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp has been roped in to portray a controversial French King Louis XV in a currently-untitled historical drama film from acclaimed French director Maiwenn. According to Deadline , actress-turned-director Miawenn, who is helming the project, will also play a mistress of the King, Jeanne du Barry, who was beheaded during the French Revolution. Further plot details are being kept under wraps. French magazine Closer, which broke the news, reports that filming will take place from July 8 in Paris, including some scenes shot at the famous palace of Versailles. Mission: Impossible 7 will now open on July 14, 2023, with Paramount and Skydance pushing it off its September 30, 2022, date. Mission: Impossible 8 has also been pushed. Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger was involved in a multi-car crash on Friday afternoon that left at least one person injured. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the incident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Allenford Avenue in Los Angeles, police said. Supreme Court has turned down a petition calling for strict censorship of Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut's social media posts and the filing of FIRs against her for her anti-Sikh remarks. The court, on the other hand, has granted Mumbai Police permission to continue with their investigation. According to the reports, a petition was filed before the Supreme Court asking for censorship of the actress' future posts. Advocate Charanjeet Singh Chanderpal further requested that all FIRs lodged across India over her comments on farmers' protests be transferred to the Khar police station in Mumbai. He further requested that a chargesheet be submitted within six months and that a trial be held within two years. Ranaut's comments and social media posts, according to the lawyer, were "not only terrible and blasphemous," but also "intended to cause riots."
