Animal Box Office: Ranbir Kapoor starrer emerges as the first ‘Adults Only’ certified Rs. 400 crores grosser

The much talked about and keenly awaited Animal hit screens on Friday December 1, and since then the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial has been unstoppable at the box office. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Rashmika Mandanna, the film that opened on a thunderous note saw its collections grow exponentially over its opening weekend and first week. Following this on its second weekend running, Animal saw over Rs. 90 crores more coming in.

In this box office report, we look at the overall collections of Animal while comparing the same to previous releases that were given an Adults Only certification but managed to make an impact at the box office. Collecting a whopping Rs. 434.02 crores, Animal has now emerged as the all-time highest grossing Adults Only certified film, managing to surpass previous releases like the Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh, The Kashmir Files, The Kerala Story, and the Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 as well. Coming as no surprise, Animal has managed to collect nearly double of the other release Kabir Singh that had collected Rs. 278.24 crores, but if that was not enough, the Ranbir Kapoor starrer is expected to see its finally tally hovering around the Rs. 500 crores mark.

Currently, Animal continues to run and is expected to see its business grow even further. Trade predictions state that the business of Animal could cross the Rs. 450 crores mark and even near the Rs. 500 crores mark by the end of its second week running.
